The North East Strategy must be underpinned by robust evidence. This will be used as the basis for deciding what the strategic priorities are for North East England and the direction we take.
At the moment, we are working to prepare for the development of the North East Strategy by collecting evidence and data from across the region to give us a solid evidence base that will help us to build the strategy. In North East England, we are already discussing the arrangements for the development of the North East Strategy. We have produced the North East England Change Management Programme outlining these arrangements in more detail.

This wide-ranging legislation gives communities and local people new rights to have a say in their local services, strengthen local democracy, reform local and regional governance arrangements and implement measures to drive economic regeneration.
